"Ultimately, the conflict in Ukraine is about Russia wanting to limit the autonomy of small states. To a country like Sweden that builds security together with others, this is a dangerous development, in the long term", says Brigadier General Mats Ström, Chief of Communications and Public Affairs at the Swedish Armed Forces.
The assessment of the Swedish Armed Forces is that the short-term threat of an armed attack on Sweden is low; however, the Swedish Armed Forces is ready to take necessary measures, depending on the current situation.
"Our exercise activities, individual as well as together with other nations, continue as planned. We are also exercising protection and surveillance of certain objects, such as the Swedish Armed Forces Headquarters, where staff readiness has been raised", says Brigadier General Mats Ström.
For operational reasons, any other adaptation of activities will not be commented upon.
